Bluitt-Flowers Health Center

In January of 2000 Dental Health Programs, Inc. formed an alliance with the Baylor College of Dentistry Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) to provide patient care at the Bluitt-Flowers Health Center. The Baylor Oral Health Foundation Board of Directors voted to provide support for this alliance in the amount of $30,000 a year for a two-year period. The support will provide for two AEGD residents to provide patient care at the Bluitt-Flowers Health Center on a weekly basis and offer the Bluitt-Flowers site as an off-campus rotation for senior undergraduate students in general dentistry. This affiliation will greatly enhance patient care to the low-income children, teens, adults and senior citizens in South Oak Cliff while providing an environment for the AEGD and undergraduate students that will closely resemble private practice. The Bluitt-Flowers Health Center is a Parkland Community Oriented Care Program component. Disciplines which offer patient care at the Health Center include: Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Practice, Obstetrics-Gynecology, Social Work, Pharmacy, Radiology, and other complementary health and social service providers.
